Young Lawyers Division Statewide Mock Trial Competition

One of the largest in the nation, the PBA/YLD Mock Trial Competition gives over 290 high school student teams from across the state the opportunity to act as lawyers and witnesses in simulated civil trials before actual judges and panels of juries. Lawyers volunteer to assist students as team advisors, scorekeepers and regional coordinators. Each year, the winning team goes on to represent Pennsylvania in the national competition.

Pennsylvania Lawyers Asked to Step Forward for National Mock Trial Fundraising
Financial support is needed now for the upcoming National Mock Trial Competition that returns to Pennsylvania in May 2010.
The competition provides outstanding preparation for today’s high school students to become tomorrow’s lawyers. Many Pennsylvania lawyers discovered their future careers during participation on statewide high school mock trial competition supported by the PBA Young Lawyers Division.
The PBA is committing significant financial and volunteer resources as the official host of the 2010 national event, and Drexel University, through a $100,000 investment, is the proud leadership sponsor.
An additional $300,000 is needed to cover the cost of housing, meals, materials and transportation for the 2010 student competitors.
Click here to connect to the special 2010 National Mock Trial Web site. Go to the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation Web site to make a donation. (The PBA YLD is challenging its members to donate a total of $100,000. YLD members should check the “YLD Challenge Contribution” box for their donations to be properly recorded as part of the challenge.)
